About Me
Why me?
I'm a writer based in Lagos, Nigeria, with a background in law and a career built on the belief that the best writing makes people feel something before it makes them think something.
I write brand content, culture commentary, and human interest stories. My commercial work has covered healthcare, consumer law, and fintech — industries where the gap between what people know and what they need to know is wide, and good writing closes it.
I run Notes From Ruth, a Substack newsletter with over 400 subscribers, where I write about the things that don't have an obvious category.
A pleasure to work with you!
I prefer not to show my face in pictures because i'm camera-shy.
There's also a misconception that most writers are bad speakers, but I don't think it's true.
I for one, am articulate when I communicate. My voice is as average as they come - not too high like a cheerleader's, and not too deep to even slightly mimic a man.
I sit nicely between deep, smooth and girly. However you would expect a 20 something year old to sound!
Do you need this information? Probably not. Did you read to the end regardless? Yes. That's good writing (and curiosity)!
Other fun facts:
My surname is 16 letters long, I'm a brown coffee girl and writing comes easily to me. I swear by C.S Lewis, I'm a chatterbox with words and i've mastered both technical and personal writing. Writing loves me, and I adore her too!
